FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS (FAQS)
GENERAL
What Is Diamond Simulant?
Diamond simulants are an alternative to a naturally mined diamond which emulate the brilliance of a naturally mined diamond. Rest assured that all our diamonds simulants are environmentally friendly and ethical as these gems are grown in a laboratory.
There are no carbon crystals composition in simulated diamonds and thus do not possess the same chemical and physical properties as natural diamonds.

How Close Are Our Lab-Grown Diamond Simulants To A Naturally Mined Diamond?
We assure you that this stone is completely indistinguishable from a naturally mined diamond of the same size, and it takes an experienced gemologist with a microscope loupe to distinguished between the two. The hardness of our diamond simulant is measured at 8.5 to 9.0 with a mined diamond possessing a 10 on the industry standard Mohs scale. This hardness equals or exceeds that of other precious stones such as sapphire and ruby.
Most agree that the naked eye can’t tell the difference and it takes an experienced gemmologist with a microscope loupe to distinguish between the two.

Where Are These Diamond Simulants From?
These diamond simulants are from Czech Republic (Europe) whereby it will be crafted by our in-house craftsmen in Hong Kong.
How Our Diamond Simulants Compare To Other Simulated Stones?
We do not compare our diamond simulants to other simulated stones in the market as our customers wear our rings as a substitute to a naturally mined diamond ring. However, from our understanding, CVD is a lab grown diamond which is exactly the same as a naturally mined diamond, but the prices are also significantly more (about half the price of a natural diamond). Moissanite is another kind of diamond simulant, but the fire and brilliance are different in that the sparkle it produces has more rainbow colors. Regular Cubic Zirconia is cheap, but it does lose its shine and turn yellowish over time.

What Do You Mean By Platinum Vermeil?
It is a primary base composition of 925 sterling silver coated with 12 layers of Platinum and is comparable to pure platinum jewelry in appearance.
However, if the platinum plating is damaged by scratches, the underlying sterling silver may start to tarnish. Our professional cleaning & polishing service would restore the shine on your jewelry pieces.

What Do You Mean By 18K Gold?
18K gold is defined as a 75% gold purity and 25% of other hardening alloy. It is also the highest gold purity that is generally used for jewelry.
Would Platinum Vermeil Tarnishes?
Platinum Vermeil is actually sterling silver and plated with platinum. After a period of wearing, the layers of platinum would start to wear off, usually due to scratches. In this case, the underlying sterling silver would be exposed and oxidized. Our professional cleaning & polishing service would restore the shine on your jewelry pieces.
However, if your piece has many deep scratches, we will be able to send the piece back to our workshop for a more thorough clean & polish which will refurbish it to look like as if you’ve just purchased it. We will also re-plate the piece. This service will cost S$50, and the process will usually take up to two months.

What Is The Difference Between Platinum Vermeil And 18K Gold?
Silver is softer and less resistant to scratches compared to Gold. Therefore, 18K Gold would be a much-preferred choice for daily wear.
Gold being a much denser material than silver will weigh heavier than comparing two rings made in 18K solid gold and platinum vermeil respectively.
In addition, there will be a notable price difference among these two material options where the price of gold is much more expensive than silver.

How Do I Maintain My Jewelry?
We would usually advise customers to avoid strong chemicals e.g. perfume, hand lotion, cosmetics, etc. as these can damage the jewelry. Hence, it is advisable to wear the jewelry after applying these materials. The jewelry should also avoid exposure to chlorine, chemicals, or salt water, as this will dull the jewelry appearance.
In addition, it would be good if you can remove the jewelries when bathing and engaging in swimming activities, manual tasks, contact sports activities.

How Do I Keep My Jewelry?
To prevent the jewelry from tarnishing and scratches, jewelry should be kept separately in a tarnish-resistant pouch or simply just a zip-lock bag. In addition, avoid storing platinum vermeil jewelry into plastic bags as these contain sulfur which will result in fasten tarnishing overtime.
Do keep your jewelry pieces away from natural sunlight and heat as these may cause the setting to expand and loosen, where the stones may risk falling off. Jewelry should also not be kept in places that is moist and damp.
Our complimentary jewelry gift boxes provided purchase are air-tight and therefore not meant for long-term storage purpose. Tarnishing will occur over time if the piece is kept in the gift box for a pro-long period.
